One of the mandates of the Paris Peace Conference of 1919 was to make the World War the "war to end all wars".  The conditions of the treaties increased hostilities and tensions among the nations rather than decreased them.  Agree or disagree with this statement.  Provide an example that will support your response.

Demoralizing...

World War 1 was far from glamorous... the conditions were horrible, the death toll staggering, and few countries attained their goals... This war was demoralizing for all participants, whether on the Western or Eastern or Home Fronts.  It is difficult to compare these fronts, but where do you think the highest level of demoralization occurred and why?
