Total War

World War II was considered a Total War... Give at least 2 specific examples why this statement is true.

  1. World war 2 was a total war because they had everybody, families including, helping with war efforts. Children were helping at home and growing up to become soldiers, wives were in factories building bombs and weapons and vehicles, and the men were in the front lines fighting.

  2. Total war is when the country puts for all effort to win, whether that means to send in women and men in the war. Germany had started this war when invading Poland it turn into a war where the Germans put forth all troops to win and take over the world.. But Russia was smart, they were willing to leave cities in complete destruction so Germany could not use supplies after their raids.. Russia didn't use the total war tactic against Germany

  3. Two examples of WWII being a total war include: The London Blitz, civilians were directly targeted along with soldiers. As well as the invasion of Russia were civilians were targeted and "fought back" by using a scorched earth policy.
