Depression vs Recession





The 1930s is best known as the "Dirty Thirties" due to the Great Depression.  Our society recently went through an economic crisis known as the 2007/2008 Recession.  What were a couple of reasons the depression of the 30s was more devastating than the 2008 recession?

  1. The depression was much more devestating because it spread across the whole world and lasted for much longerlonger.

  2. The Great Depression was more devastating than the recession because it lasted most of the 1930's, where as the recession lasted 2 years. The "Dirty Thirties" was also worldwide. Even after the Great Depression ended it resulted in WW1, but the recession didn't.

  4. Mainly because the depression lasted most of the 1930s and the recession lasted just two years. And the depression had an impact all over the world.
